Scientific Solutions That Turn Complex Problems Into Reliable Answers
CMDC Labs helps manufacturers, researchers, product developers, and organizations solve scientific and technical challenges through advanced laboratory testing, scientific investigation, product development support, analytical services, and technical consulting.
Whether you already know exactly which laboratory test you need or you are facing a problem that requires investigation, our scientists work with you to understand the challenge, determine an appropriate scientific approach, and generate reliable data that supports better decisions.
From routine laboratory analysis to complex product failures, contamination concerns,
development challenges, and research projects, CMDC Labs brings scientific expertise and
advanced laboratory capabilities together to help make the unknown known.
Our mission is simple:
transform complex scientific questions into clear, actionable laboratory results.
More Than Testing — Scientific Support for the Problems Behind the Test
Sometimes you know exactly what analysis you need.
Other times, the real question is not:
“Which test should I order?”
It is:
“Why is this happening, and how do we solve it?”
CMDC Labs supports both situations.
Our laboratory provides advanced microbiological, chemical, analytical, environmental, food, biological, materials, and medical device testing services. But our capabilities extend beyond performing individual tests.
We work with clients to investigate problems, characterize products and materials, evaluate potential causes of failure, support product development, develop testing strategies, interpret scientific findings, and determine the next steps when the answer is not immediately obvious.
This collaborative approach allows laboratory testing to become part of a broader scientific problem-solving process.
You do not always need to know the name of the test before contacting a laboratory.
Start with the problem
CMDC Labs can help organizations facing challenges such as:

My Product Failed
Unexpected product performance can result from materials, formulation, manufacturing
conditions, contamination, packaging, storage, environmental exposure, or other variables.
Our scientists can help investigate potential causes and develop a testing strategy designed
around the specific failure.

We Have a Contamination Problem
When contamination occurs, identifying what happened is only part of the challenge.
CMDC Labs can support contamination investigations through microbiological testing, chemical
analysis, material identification, environmental testing, and scientific investigation.

Our Product Quality Has Changed
Changes in appearance, performance, composition, stability, microbiological quality, or other
product characteristics may indicate changes somewhere within the product or manufacturing
process.
We help organizations generate scientific data that can support root cause investigations and
quality improvement.

We Need to Identify an Unknown Material or Compound
Unexpected residues, particles, deposits, contaminants, or materials can create significant manufacturing and product-quality concerns. CMDC Labs provides analytical capabilities to help characterize and identify unknown materials and compounds.

We Are Developing a Product
Product development often requires more than a single laboratory test.
CMDC Labs can support formulation development, material evaluation, product
characterization, method development, stability studies, prototype evaluation, analytical testing,
and other scientific activities throughout the development process.

We Need Scientific Troubleshooting
Not every scientific challenge fits neatly into an established testing package.
When the cause of a problem is uncertain, our scientists can work with your organization to
understand the available information, identify relevant variables, and develop an appropriate
investigation or testing strategy.

We Need Research Support
Companies, universities, researchers, startups, and product development teams may require
specialized laboratory capabilities or scientific expertise to support research programs.
CMDC Labs provides flexible scientific support for research, proof-of-concept studies,
experimental programs, method development, and other specialized projects.
I Am Not Sure Where to Start
That is okay.
Tell us what you are working on, what has happened, and what you are trying to accomplish.
Our team can review your project and help determine whether CMDC Labs & capabilities are
appropriate for your needs.

A Laboratory That Helps Solve the Problem — Not Just Run the Test
Laboratory testing is most valuable when the data helps answer the larger scientific question.
CMDC Labs approaches projects collaboratively.
This approach is particularly valuable when a project does not fit into a standard testing
package or when the client knows the problem but does not yet know which analysis will provide
the answer.
Understand the scientific or technical challenge
Review available project information
Determine appropriate laboratory approaches
Develop testing and investigation strategies
Characterize products, materials, or contaminants
Investigate unexpected results or failures
Support method development and validation
Generate data for product-development decisions
Interpret scientific findings
Identify appropriate next steps

Award Winning
From Scientific Question to Reliable Data
Every project begins differently.
Some clients arrive with a detailed testing specification.
Others arrive with a failed product, an unexplained contaminant, a manufacturing problem, a new formulation, a research question, or simply an observation that something is not working as expected.
Our process is designed to accommodate both.
- 1. Tell Us About Your Project
Describe the product, material, process, research question, or problem you are working with.
- 2. We Review the Scientific Need
Our team evaluates the information provided and determines which CMDC Labs capabilities may be relevant.
- 3. Define the Appropriate Approach
Depending on the project, this may involve established laboratory testing, customized analysis, scientific investigation, product characterization, development support, or consultation.
- 4. Generate Reliable Scientific Data
Testing and investigation are performed according to the agreed project scope and applicable laboratory procedures.
- 5. Use the Results to Move Forward
The resulting scientific information can help support product-development decisions, investigations, quality improvements, research objectives, manufacturing decisions, or other project goals.

The CT Chamber is a technology used for testing medical devices. It can test any shape or size implant or biomaterial for biocompatibility. It bridges the gap between lab testing and testing in the body by using a 3D model that mimics a wound niche. This model can induce a cellular response to an implanted material and measure cellular metrics in real-time. The CT Chamber combines human cell bioreactor and cell seeding chamber technology with analysis and imaging tools to accurately test how a medical device would perform in the body. It can determine the reaction of the immune system and how well the device integrates into the body.
